Our name:
Many years ago the only contact, in the vicinity, between the Free State and the Transvaal was a ferry that ran across the river at the end of De Villiers Street and Van Riebeek Island. We drew our inspiration from this part in history and so we created the Old Ferry House - A rustic mix of old and new.
They Old Ferry House brings a fresh alternative to Al Fresco drinking on the river. Its impressive selection of whiskys and fine cocktails will bring any connoisseur to their knees.
We believe that cocktails are not only about strong flavours - they are about delicate, warm, wonderful aromas that come together in an exquisite masterpiece. We also have a wide range of imported beers and spirits to tantalise everyone’s taste buds.
Unfortunately we do not display any sport as our cocktails are wonderful to look at and they would be extremely offended if they are not the centre of attention.
We also offer a selection of fine cigars and our staff are on hand to advise those wishing to sample some of the best.
We are available for private hire and can accommodate groups up to 50 people.

No under 23’s
Gentleman will have shoes on and leave the bad behaviour outside.
Do not bring anyone unless you would leave that person alone in your home.
Last but not least, we welcome high spirits and good vibes to ensure everyone has a superb time.
